PhD studentship in the Low Carbon Building Research Group of Oxford Brookes University image

Oxford Institute for Sustainable Development and the School of Architecture in Oxford Brookes University (Oxford, UK) organize a fully-funded full-time PhD studentship in the Low Carbon Building Research Group. The ‘Bicester Eco-town PhD Studentship’ is open to UK, EU and International students. The successful applicant will receive an annual bursary of £11,000/year for three years and the tuition fees will be paid by the University. The closing date for the studentship is 8 February 2016. Successful candidates will start in April 2016. Il Consorzio ARCA, nell’ambito del progetto STS-Med (Small Scale Thermal Solar District Units for Mediterranean Communities), finanziato dal programma ENPI CBCMED dell’Unione Europea, organizza una giornata di formazione dal titolo “Aspetti costruttivi, di installazione e normativi di un impianto Fresnel poligenerativo”, che si terrà venerdì 18 dicembre presso i locali del consorzio (Viale delle Scienze, ed. 16). All’interno della giornata verranno trattati argomenti inerenti alle particolari scelte costruttive, alle attività di installazione nonché ai riferimenti normativi da ottemperare per le varie parti dell’impianto in attuale fase di realizzazione nell’area messa a disposizione dall’Università di Palermo, nell’ambito del progetto STS-Med. STS-Med at the International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications standard

STS-Med in focus at second Mediterranean Solar Forum standard

On november the 26th, 2015, will take place in Barcelona the second edition of Mediterranean Solar Forum. It will gather, for the second time, the projects of the ENPI CBC MED Solar cluster established in Amman, Jordan in October 2013 and composed of all the ENPI CBC Strategic Projects, promoting the growth of the Mediterranean Solar sector: STS-Med, Foster in MED, Shaams, MED Solar, DIDSOLIT-PB and MED Desire. Cyprus Institute and Arca signe a Memorandum of Understanding standard

Starting from the fruitful exchange of expertise established within STS-Med project, the Cyprus Institute and Arca have signed on 4 November  a Memorandum of Understanding envisaging and designing a multi-year framework of bilateral cooperation, not exclusively but prioritised in the following fields: solar energy systems, environmental research and monitoring, archaeology and cultural heritage, HPC innovative architectures and data visualization. Expected outcomes from this collaboration will be achieved through an integrated set of actions such as secondments, staff exchange, joint projects or parallel testing of innovative technologies for field application.

At Consorzio Arca, three days dedicated to Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) standard

During the forthcoming month of November, Consorzio Arca opens the doors to Energy Solar topics. On 4 and 5 November, in the framework of STS-Med project, international B2B Meetings, technical meetings and institutional round tables will take place at ARCA Consortium. STS-Med project is financed by the Community programme ENPI CBC MED, implemented by a partnership of 14 organizations of six different countries, coordinated by Arca. Started in November 2012, the project is already in its final phase. So it’s time to show the important outcomes of a process of design and testing of multigenerative systems based on the solar sources in the Mediterranean area.

Capitalization event: environmental sustainability challenges in the Mediterranean area standard

The environment has no respect for national boundaries: natural habitats and weather patterns often spread across several regions or several countries. That is why efforts to protect the environment of regions around the Mediterranean can be more effective when they extend across borders.
